European Urology Focus is a new sister journal to European Urology. It is peer-reviewed and will be published six times per year in electronic format. The first issue deals with smoking and urological diseases. It makes for very interesting reading with topics such as: 1. There are cooler ways to die than smoking; 2. Global patterns of tobacco smoking and control; 3. The link between smoking and erectile dysfunction; 4. Smoking and prostate cancer (this might come as surprise to some of us); 5. Tobacco cessation – a guide for clinicians. Doctors can help patients to quit smoking by using a mnemonic of 5As – ask, advise, assess, assist, arrange.
