BAUS Core Urology Course 2025

This is an introductory course for trainees embarking on a career in urology. The course runs over four days (Tuesday to Friday) and consists of lectures from experts in all elements of urological practice. It provides an unrivalled opportunity to meet with experienced clinicians who can help with your development as a urologist. The course is aimed at those of ST1 - ST3 grade, or those intending to apply for training in urology in the next round of national selection.

Prostate Cancer UK: PSA Consensus Conference 2024

During the conference, you'll get up-to-date information on the latest consensus regarding the PSA blood test. You'll also be able to discuss the diagnostic process for secondary care and learn how to proactively manage conversations about prostate health with patients who are at higher risk. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, interact with peers, and apply what you learn through engaging case studies. 9am – 12.30pm

Course objectives To provide the basic knowledge required for clinical applications To describe all the basic principles (instruments, materials, anesthesia equipment) and present the most widely used basic laparoscopic urological techniques To provide hands-on training sessions to learn or improve performance of basic technical tasks in laparoscopic urological surgery To describe results and potential complications of laparoscopic procedures

This online conference will be streamed live from UCH Westmoreland Street Hospital, London, from November 6th to 8th, 8:00 to 18:00 GMT. Prostate Cancer UK: Towards Equity: Exploring Prostate Cancer Disparities Experienced by Black Men - data and evidence mini conference (Free)

We will delve into why Prostate Cancer UK is exploring health inequalities, starting with Black men and highlight valuable research findings and challenges in health inequalities space, with keynote speaker Dr Tom Cowling, who will share his insights from the latest England and Wales NPCA State of the Nation Report, including sociodemographic and tumour data from England. From 1.30 pm - 4.30pm

Dundee Institute for Healthcare Simulation: Fundamentals of Transurethral Resection and Ureteroscopic Skills using animal and human Cadaveric models.

This is a one and a half day practical course, ideal for Urology Trainees who are already undertaking or about to start training in endoscopic urology. The emphasis during the course will be hands-on training mainly on restructured animal tissue models and also Thiel embalmed human cadavers, whilst the relevant key clinical elements will be addressed by the experts in the subject areas. The course will be taught by consultant urologists. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, allowing easy exchange of ideas and experiences.
